What North London homes actually need

Most burglaries in North London are opportunist and happen at the front or side of the house. A camera covering the front door and the approach to it, one covering side access or the rear garden, and a video doorbell will deter the majority of attempts and give the police something usable if one happens. Flats above shops along Holloway Road, Upper Street or Green Lanes usually need a single camera on the shared entrance plus a doorbell. Detached and semi-detached houses in Finchley, Totteridge or Enfield with a driveway benefit from a third or fourth camera watching the car and the back of the house.

What we recommend changes with the building. Period terraces in Islington and Camden have narrow frontages and often a conservation area to respect, so cable routes and camera positions need to be discreet. We run cables internally where we can and use compact cameras in white or black to match the brickwork. Newer flats in King's Cross or Colindale often have restrictions from the management company, which we can work with, and sometimes the right answer is a wireless or doorbell-only setup rather than a wired system. Home Protect, £1,499 inc. VAT. Four 4K ColorVu cameras with 24/7 colour night vision, a 2TB recorder, smart person and vehicle detection and instant alerts to your phone. The usual choice for a North London family house.
Estate Elite, £2,799 inc. VAT. Eight 4K AI cameras including a PTZ tracking camera, a 4TB recorder, perimeter protection zones and smart home integration. For larger properties in Highgate, Hampstead Garden Suburb, Totteridge or Enfield with long drives and more ground to cover.

Shops and small businesses

Retail units on Camden High Street, Seven Sisters Road, Wood Green High Road and Enfield Town have a different problem: shoplifting and staff safety rather than break-ins. For a shop we typically fit a camera on the till, one on the door and one or two covering the aisles, with the recorder locked away and remote viewing from your phone. How the installation works

Survey or video call. We confirm camera positions, where the recorder lives and where cables will run.
One visit, usually a day. Most four-camera home systems are installed, aimed and set up on your phone in a single working day. We tidy cables, test night vision and show you how to review footage.
Aftercare. You get a written handover with the recorder login, and we are a phone call away if something needs adjusting.
