A fitted EPOS system for a London shop, cafe or restaurant costs between £1,199 and £2,499, VAT included. That is one till with its scanner, drawer and printer, installed and taking sales on the day. Here is what sits inside those four prices, what pushes a quote above them and what is already covered. To book one, see EPOS systems in London.
The four fixed prices
Retail and hospitality tills do different jobs, so there are two ranges. All four prices include VAT, the hardware listed, the installation and the software setup.
- Shop Starter, £1,199 inc. VAT. A 15-inch touchscreen terminal, barcode scanner and cash drawer, stock management software and a receipt printer.
- Retail Pro, £1,999 inc. VAT. A high-performance terminal, a customer loyalty programme, a cloud reporting dashboard, ecommerce integration and label printing support.
- Cafe Lite, £1,299 inc. VAT. A splash-proof touch terminal, a fast thermal printer, simple menu management and staff timekeeping built in.
- Restaurant Plus, £2,499 inc. VAT. A pro terminal plus kitchen printer, table and tab management, a handheld waiter pad, order-at-table and QR support, and ingredient-level inventory.
Each price is for one till with the kit listed. Full detail is in the EPOS packages section.
What is in the price
- The hardware. The terminal, drawer, scanner and printer, plus the kitchen printer and waiter pad on Restaurant Plus.
- The installation. An engineer fits the kit at the counter, connects it to power and the network and pairs it with your card terminal.
- The software setup. Your product list or menu goes in before the visit, with prices, VAT and staff logins, so the first sale rings through on the day.
- The handover. A live sale with you, the setup photographed, and your sign-off. The invoice is issued only after that.
Card processing is separate. The tills integrate with a card terminal, so you keep your payment provider and its rates.
What adds to the quote
The four prices cover a single till. These take a quote above them.
- A second or further till. Multi-till setups are surveyed first and quoted as one fixed price.
- An extra kitchen printer. Restaurant Plus includes one. A bar or second kitchen station with its own printer is added to the quote.
- Network points at the counter. A Single Cat6 Point is £129, terminated, tested and labelled at both ends. The Office 10-Point at £849 gives ten points with patch panel termination and a full test report, with out-of-hours install available.
- Wi-Fi for handhelds. Waiter pads need Wi-Fi that reaches every table and the kitchen. Pro Network at £549 is a mesh setup with two wired-backhaul Cat6 points, separate IoT and guest VLANs and a speed certification report.
- A screen above the counter. Digital signage for menus and offers runs from the same network, quoted as its own package.
- A camera over the till. Retail Essential at £1,399 on the CCTV and security page has four 4K vandal-resistant dome cameras, a dedicated cash till monitoring view and remote manager access from any device.
- Maintenance, if you also take security. CarePlan Business is £649 per year: two service visits a year, up to eight cameras plus the alarm system, an insurer-ready working-order report and a next business-day SLA. It covers the security kit, not the till.
Shop, cafe or restaurant: which package
- Independent shop. Shop Starter at £1,199 if you sell over the counter and want stock control. Retail Pro at £1,999 if you also sell online, run a loyalty scheme or print your own labels.
- Counter-service cafe or takeaway. Cafe Lite at £1,299. The splash-proof terminal and fast printer are built for a queue, and staff timekeeping is in the software.
- Full-service restaurant. Restaurant Plus at £2,499. Orders go from the waiter pad or the customer's phone to the kitchen printer, with table and tab management and ingredient-level stock.
- Several tills or several sites. No fixed package. We survey first with a Commercial Survey & Spec at £199, credited against the installation, then quote one fixed price.

How the installation day runs
Most single-till installations take one visit.
- Before the visit we confirm the counter position, power and network, and load your products or menu with prices, VAT and staff logins.
- The engineer fits the terminal, drawer, scanner and printer, and the kitchen printer on Restaurant Plus.
- The card terminal is paired and tested.
- You run a live sale with the engineer before they leave.
- The setup is photographed and you sign off. The invoice follows sign-off, not before.
If the shop cannot close, we fit around opening hours. Say so when you book.
EPOS in London: areas and sites
We install EPOS systems across London and everywhere inside the M25, for independent shops, cafes, restaurants, takeaways and small chains. A single till is a one-visit job. Several tills or several sites are surveyed first and quoted as one job. Shops and chains that want menus and offers on screen can add digital signage alongside the EPOS, run from the same network.
Questions
Is the price per till or per site? Per till. Each fixed price covers one till with the kit listed. A second till or site is surveyed first and quoted as one fixed price.
Is there a survey fee for a single till? A single till does not need a survey. We confirm the counter position, power and network before the visit. Several tills or several sites get a Commercial Survey & Spec at £199, credited against the installation.
Do I need a network point at the counter before you install? The till needs power and a reliable connection at the counter, which we check beforehand. If there is no data point, a Single Cat6 Point is £129, terminated, tested and labelled.
Is VAT included in the EPOS prices? Yes. Every EPOS price in this guide includes VAT, hardware, installation and software setup. Card processing is your agreement with your payment provider.
Can I add a camera over the till? Yes. Retail Essential at £1,399 includes a dedicated cash till monitoring view and remote manager access from any device. Business Pro at £3,199 has eight 4K AI analytics cameras with people counting and is POS integration ready.
